DAY 243

TODAY WE ARE 2/3 OF THE WAY THROUGH THIS CHALLENGE!

For today's photo, I started a new roll of 110 film in the Ikimono and took a picture of my view from the couch facing while talking on the phone with the girl who bought it for me.

New silver toenails:

DAY 241

Today, the only thing I really did was go longboarding with Kyle and Penson. Kyle accidentally broke my longboard but I was less upset than I expected to be. Luckily, Kyle had given me another board for free a couple weeks earlier. It worked out, I guess! Using the Fisheye, I took a picture of the two of them on the top floor of the parking structure where we skated.

DAY 240

On the way to LACMA, I noticed how crisp the Variety building looked against the sky and promptly took a picture with the $3. In the picture, the building is right next to a palm tree and they are about the same height. Fitting, because I went to see the John Baldessari exhibit.

Also, we saw a cat:

DAY 238

This is what I come home to after work: Jersey Shore Couch Fest. I don't watch a lot of TV, but when I do, I love it.

DAY 237

Sorry for the long string of not-so-exciting pictures! It's my last week and work and I've been lethargic, moping around a little bit. Today, I actually took a two-hour nap right after I got back from work so I have a good excuse for a very mundane photograph. The funny thing is that even though my photos have been kind of boring, my life has been unexpectedly fulfilling recently. Funny how that works...

Anyway, this is our refrigerator magnet collection. As you can see, we use these magnets to hold up a lot of important papers:

DAY 236

My department took me out to lunch today. I took the opportunity of them all being in the same place to take a picture of all of them outside the restaurant, using the $3. In a move typical of our hyper-organized department, they lined up in order according to height. It was adorable.

DAY 234

Today's photo of the day was taken with the $3 and is of Kim in a random alley somewhere in West Hollywood. Between the Melrose Trading Post (where I, the sucker that I am, bought three books and a gangsta necklace) and a barbecue for work, we stopped in West Hollywood to cool down with some frozen yogurt and that's where I took this picture.

I don't know what happened to this photo.

DAY 233

After getting back from the movie, Daniel gave Priscilla and I the grand tour of his apartment. He showed us the awesome toilet seat cover, on which was lovingly painted the face of a panda. I promptly took a picture with the Fisheye.

Friday, August 20, 2010

DAY 232

I went with Priscilla and Daniel to see Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (finally! why am I so obsessed with that series?) and along the way over we met up with Reza so I could trade him Hanna's Lost Season 5 for his chem notes. Today's picture (taken with the Fisheye) is of Priscilla, Daniel, and Reza posing behind three newspaper dispensers.

DAY 231

I was exhausted and forgot to take a picture of my food. Instead, I took a picture with the Fisheye of the view from my cubicle.

Fisheye photos did not come out.

DAY 230

My walls are starting to get filled up:

DAY 226

"Get on your knees." Happy birthday, Amanda!

DAY 224

For DAY 224, I used the Fisheye to take a picture of the parking lot where I helped staff the concert tonight. The sun was just setting and everything was lit up dramatically.

Fisheye photos did not come out.

Wednesday, August 11, 2010

DAY 223

I finished up another roll on the $3 by taking a picture of my new longboard. :)

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

DAY 222

I met up with my friend Kyle for dinner and he gave me a super sweet purple longboard for free! I must be the luckiest girl alive to have friends like this.

It was also nice talking to him about life after college. Even though he studied engineering, he's currently working at a skate company and loving it. He works four days a week, and the fifth day is a "field day," basically meaning that he gets to skate all day, take photos, and test out new products. Awesome, right? It's a nice reminder that there are some things you can't plan - they just happen.

Monday, August 9, 2010

DAY 221

I've started decorating my walls. All this blank space is so daunting!

Sunday, August 8, 2010

DAY 220

I made mousse today.

I also updated photos from the Ikimono. You can check up on them here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here!

DAY 219

Woke up late then feasted at the 2nd Annual Korean BBQ Cook-Off with Grace, George, and George's friend Casey. I am so stuffed! And now my hair and clothes smell like sweet beef. Mmmm...

Before I could get my camera out fast enough to get a picture of the action, this little boy walked up to Grace and held out his lollypop. She was eating one too and he wanted to point out that they were doing the same thing. He walked up to her (I don't even know how he saw her from so far away) and held out the lollypop pointing it at her, not saying anything, and just waited for her to notice. I told Grace and she bent down and she and the little boy compared lollypops. Adorable.

DAY 218

On the way to Pasadena to see another White Noiz show. I really love this city.

Thursday, August 5, 2010

DAY 217

Took another picture (with the $3) of my dinner food tonight at the concert. Mmmm, roast beef and white chocolate raspberry cake!

AND OH HEY DID I TELL YOU ABOUT THIS THING I'M PARTICIPATING IN CALLED THE SKETCHBOOK PROJECT? It's this traveling art exhibit of sketchbooks that actual, average people draw in and decorate. You pay $25 for a sketchbook (they all have to be the same size so they are easily transportable) and you draw in it and mail it in by January 15, 2011, and it gets put in this giant exhibit! There will be over 10,000 sketchbooks from people all over the world. I'm so excited, especially because I've been toying with the idea of doing a drawing a day for next year's project.

DAY 216

Lonely late-night grocery shopping. I went hungry and ended up buying way too much!

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

DAY 215

I finally washed the dishes today.

Monday, August 2, 2010

DAY 214

WHY DIDN'T SHE PICK HIM? The Bachelorette, Season 6, ended with disappointment.

Sunday, August 1, 2010

DAY 213

Let's just say I've been utilizing my weekends well. At midnight, I went to see The Room, a cult classic film known for possibly being the worst film in existence. I took a picture of Johnny with the Fisheye, but we'll see if it comes out. After sleeping a couple of hours, I got up to make jam at LACMA with Kim and Kimberly. FOR FREE! We brought strawberries and got to use other fruits that the event provided, such as apricots and figs.

After you boil the jam, you have to let it cool upside down so that the jars will seal:

Afterwards, Kimberly asked me to take pictures of her in the bamboo, posing like Jack from Lost. We embarrassed Kim.

Walking back to our car, we saw this funny sign:

Then, to celebrate Rachel's birthday, I went with another group of friends to have dinner at Wurstküche. It was quite a sausage fest.
