DAY 181

Johnny and I went to get our hair cut today at the Vidal Sassoon Academy. You can pay only $11.50 to sit in a chair for three and a half hours and get a semi-shitty haircut! Well, at least Johnny's came out a lot better than mine.

My plan for today's photo was to take 8 different pictures of Johnny - one set of four from before the haircut, and one set of four from after. I took a photo from each side of his head, like in a set of mugshots! Unfortunately, most of them ended up blurry so here's the first "before" shot:

DAY 180

Today's photo of the day is of Michael Jackson's star on Hollywood Boulevard, taken with the $3. There's a homemade wreath around the star, and people have left flowers, candles, and a poster in his honor.

DAY 179

Monday night: The Bachelorette at 8pm with $6 peach champagne while Megan Lee visited and mooched our internet, then making fun of Ke$ha and her horrible yet catchy songs. We are nothing if not classy here at Villa Bonita #5. This week, Westwood has been turned into a wasteland wonderland as many students are finally moving out and leaving all of their unwanted items on the street. I have already scored a comfy chair and a set of fairly-unused pots and pans!

DAY 178

I put a new roll of film in the Fisheye today. I bought it from the dollar store, so I'm really excited to see how it turns out. Hopefully kind of shitty in an awesome way! Anyway, Kim and I went to Santa Monica so I took a picture of an anti-war exhibit on the beach. There were a ton of little white crosses and Star of Davids and half moons to stand for the graves of the soldiers who have died in Afghanistan.

A lot of photos didn't come out on this roll, including today's photos. :(

DAY 177

Today's photos of the day were also taken with the Ikimono (I'm getting impatient - I really want to finish this roll!) and document a quick trip to the Santa Monica farmer's market. There were a lot of dogs there, so I mostly took pictures of them. There was this one really gorgeous humongous dog with light blue eyes that I fell in love with, even though he scared me a little bit, and I hope that picture comes out well.

The first picture was one that I sneakily took of a man with his pet iguana:

These flowers were even more brilliant in real life:

This is my favorite shot on the entire roll. I remember seeing these oranges under this black mesh sheet and just thinking about how pretty the black looked layered over the orange. I also like the random strangers in the background:

I forgot about this dog that a woman was carrying in her backpack:

And here's the gorgeous huge dog with freaky eyes:

DAY 176

Today's photo of the day is of the outside of my internship and was taken with the Ikimono. We're in the middle of remodeling and repainting everything, so it doesn't look very pretty right now, but I'll take another picture later so you can see the transformation. I also took a picture of a palm tree with really long fronds, but I'll only post it if it turns out well!

I'm not sure that either of them turned out great, but I'm posting them both anyway.

Right now the apartment is filled with extra coffee tables, couches, desks, TVs, and chairs - too much stuff in one room!

DAY 168

Favorite places ever in the world #2: There's this random unsuburbanized hill in the middle of my neighborhood. It's a ridiculously steep hike to the top, but once you're there the view is amazing. You can see at least five different cities at once: Belmont, Foster City, Redwood Shores, San Mateo, and a little bit of San Francisco.

DAY 163

Being home is weird. I find myself talking in a slightly Southern accent around my family. We're not even from the South.

DAY 162

First day of summer. I spent more than four hours outside today. I don't think I'll ever survive at a nine-to-five office job.

DAY 161

Today's photos document Undie Run and were taken with the $3!
