DAY 365

Photo of the day is done! Wow wow wow.

Well, not totally done. I have to get the final rolls of film developed and posted, and maybe learn how to make a super cool video showing all this year's photos of the day, like Laraine did! And keep your dashboards posted for my next year project for 2011, tentatively titled 52 New.

DAY 364

Sometimes, my dog thinks she is human and my brother plays along with it:

The Cottong household: where poodles wear shrunken wool sweaters and show off considerable amounts of chest hair.

DAY 361

Amanda and I went to Burlesque, which turned out to be kind of ridiculously amazing. The acting was horrible and the plot almost non-existent, yet Burlesque was a completely satisfying film. I don't quite understand how this is possible.

This is a photo from the drive back home:

DAY 360

Christmas present that will teach me how to play drums, so I can finally form my dream band:

DAY 359

My brother added green clay to our phone so that it now looks like some kind of dinosaur. Merry Christmas!

DAY 357

Blurry photo, taken with my phone, of a Zimbabwaen ten trillion dollar note, which IS REAL! Inflation gone really bad, I suppose?

DAY 356

Umm, no photo for today either. Sorry!

DAY 355

I did take a photo today, of the rain at night from the view of our hotel window!

Wow, the quality is terrible!

DAY 354

No photo for today either. Sorry!

DAY 353

I regret to admit that I did not take my camera with me to Disneyland. But I do have a good excuse: it poured for the entire time that we were there, meaning that I probably wouldn't have taken my camera into the park with me anyway, meaning that there would be a lot of pictures of the hotel(s) we stayed in! However, I should have at least tried harder by taking pictures with my phone more than just one day. I am sorry.

DAY 352

San Carlos Christmas lights viewing with Amanda, who is Jewish and doesn't get to put up Christmas lights! Even if you're not into Christmas, for whatever reason, the lights are still magical. We saw one house that was literally completely covered in lights. AMAZING.

DAY 351

Photo of Ari and her guitar, taken with my new phone, which has a crappier camera than the last one! I am currently figuring out how to transfer photos from my phone to my computer. I think it involves texting it to someone who has a space phone, then having them email it to me, so then I can post it.

DAY 350

Ugh, so many wires. This is the mess beneath my dad's new desk:

DAY 349

New stamps! Holy Mother Theresa!

DAY 348

My eyes are dilated here, and not because it's dark! I went to the optometrist to get my eyes checked since I've been getting this weird migraine vision thing. Also, if I look like I have the flu here, it's because I do.

DAY 347

Oops! No photo today.

DAY 344

My family is currently remodeling the downstairs room, taking what was once my bedroom and making it into my dad's new office. Meaning everything that I have to go through almost everything I own and decide whether or not I want to keep it. It turns out that I'm more of a packrat than I thought. Going through my stuff, I found a collection of old birthday cards, a digital camera from middle school that hasn't worked for years, and a ton of instruction manuals for computers and alarm clocks that we don't own anymore.

Some of my stuff (like the things I just mentioned) were pretty easy to get rid of, but I began going through a bunch of my old artwork and it was harder throwing away some of those pieces. Although a lot of them are really ugly (and I mean really ugly) I put a lot of effort into them at the time and I guess I kept them because I felt like I had put so much into them. However, the fact is that I really have no need of keeping them. I don't look at them regularly, and I don't remember most of them until I see them. And I'm not really that kind of artist anymore; I don't paint or draw regularly. When I finally did throw away most of my old sketches, it made me feel unexpectedly sad. It was as if I were saying, "Okay, I guess I'll never be an artist."

I don't think that's true, exactly, but I did feel like I was casting off a part of my old self. That's a good thing, right?

Anyway, I did photograph some of my old sketches and final works. Here they are:

DAY 340

I took today's photo using The Tank (I have to finish this roll!) of the hallway of our staircase. Right before sunset, the light comes in bright orange and shines this neon orange hexagon of light on the wall, but only for a couple minutes. I missed it a couple days ago when I noticed it after I got back from the grocery store but found it was gone after I put my groceries away.

Oh, and my phone died so I won't be able to post the photos that I took with it. Effff...

DAY 338

Today I did the FYF LA Scavenger Hunt with Lauren, Daniel, Alex, and Megan. It was awesome! I've always wanted to do one of these. One day, I'd like to get together a really intense team and strategize and WIN.

Below are some of the highlights! Daniel and Alex asking for a job application at McDonald's while wearing adult diapers:

We stopped off at Food4Less to buy some items for the food drive. They had so many different kinds of hot sauce! (I think I am in love with this store.) (Not for the hot sauce.)

Then we showered Jeffries at a do-your-own carwash:

Daniel had to make out with a mannequin in the front window of an American Apparel. He went for it with tongue:

One of our last stops was at a dogpark where Jeffries had to make a dust angel in the dirt. It smelled like dog piss:

On the way back to the parking lot to turn in our items, Daniel painted his face blue like the Blue Man Group for a couple last points. Oh, and that's also a Sharpie unibrow there. I drew it.

And finally, Megan got to try on some fake nails. She couldn't pick up anything with them!

This was where I spent most of today, finishing my last essay for the quarter. Wooooo!!
